Farm Service Technician

 Farm Equipment Repair Technician – Full‑Time Location: Stirling‑Rawdon, Ontario Dealership: McKeown Motor Sales About the Role We are looking for a skilled and motivated Farm Equipment Repair Technician to join our service team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on mechanical work, solving technical problems, and supporting local farmers by keeping their equipment running at peak performance. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of agricultural machinery, including tractors, loaders, hay tools, tillage equipment, and precision‑ag systems from brands such as Massey Ferguson, Fendt, and Amazone. Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and CANbus issues on farm equipment
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections on tractors and implements
  • Complete engine, transmission, PTO, and hydraulic system repairs
  • Set up, pre‑deliver, and configure new equipment
  • Install and troubleshoot precision‑ag components (GPS, monitors, sensors, ISOBUS)
  • Document all work performed in the service software and communicate findings to customers
  • Work with parts and service advisors to ensure accurate repair estimates
  • Provide on‑farm service calls during peak seasons
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

  • Experience as an agricultural, heavy equipment, diesel, or automotive technician
  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
  • Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical bulletins
  • Familiarity with modern farm equipment technology (GPS, monitors, telematics) is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work extended hours during planting and harvest seasons

Assets (Not Required but Beneficial)

  • AGCO, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, or Amazone training
  • Precision agriculture experience (Trimble, Precision Planting, Raven, etc.)
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  • Farm background or hands‑on equipment experience
